F-90

The amazing F-90 is the most advanced custom racing bicycle Lightning. This amazing machine has broken records and bested bikes in classes above its own.
The latest version of this machine as used in RAAM 2004 uses the R-84 frameset with Lightning carbon cranks, 33 to 160 inch gear range, and Hayes Disc brake. The fairing is an exotic Kevlar composite nose and hard shell tail section with Kevlar and Mylar Sailcloth middle section. The Sailcloth does not stretch like Spandex but can still be pulled tight to approximate a full hard shell fairing. It also incorporates zippers for entry, exit, and cooling. The final component is a long wondshield which tilts forward for entry and exit, or visibility in poor conditions. The long windshield can be replaced with an short windshield for hot rides or foggy/rainy conditions. The seperate short windshield is included with the F-90. The windshields pop on and off with a single quick release pin.

The F-90 is a super fast machine that can be ridden on the street (with a mirror), plus only weighs 30 pounds for fast climbing! The extreem performance of this machine is not for the faint hearted or slow reacting. For those with the Right Stuff and $14,000, you can have the fastest bike in your state!

PBP 1999: #1 Recumbent!

Paris-Brest-Paris is one of the longest and longest-running bicycle events in the world--a 750 mile non-stop race running from Paris to Brest on the Normandy coast and back to Paris. Several riders competed on Lightning bikes, including ex-RAAM champion Bob Fourney and World HPV Racing Champ Andreas Weigel on full faired F-90's. Bob finished in an amazing 47 hours! Not only did Bob finish in 47 hours, he came in 14th place overall (of 3800 riders) (behind guys who rode in a large group most of the way), and was 20 hours ahead of the second place recumbent!

Lightning Leads at Paris-Brest-Paris 1995

Lightning Team rider Pete Penseyres led the way in 2 stages of the 1995 Paris-Brest-Paris, a 750-mile non stop event held every 4 years in, of course, Paris.

You'll see several riders from Team Lightning in the 1999 Paris Brest Paris and we're looking forward to great results!
